BA5T has some very expensive alloying additions but may be a better option than the BATT for those who need to turn out quality cutting fast.
These laps are intended for the experienced BATTâ„¢ user who requires a harder-finer-grained lap for HIGH SPEED PRODUCTION POLISHING processes. Being a very complex alloy and having attendant casting quirks (It has to be nitrogen remelted, for example), the BA5T requires a heavy ("Pro-Weight") casting, and extra machining steps.
The BA5Tâ„¢ is not intended for the Mass Market. This is a limited production lap that is designed for EXPERTS. Those who have mastered the use of the BATTâ„¢ lap will adapt to the BA5T quickly but results will depend on the proficiency of the user.
For someone slaving under a stopwatch for a living, they are cheap, but for hobbyists, we recommend the regular production "BATTâ„¢" as offering the best Price/Performance value.
